Lift Door Too Small? Corridor Too Narrow? An All-in-One Cabinet Can Still Go In

Lift door too small? Corridor too narrow? That does not stop us building an all-in-one cabinet for you.
During an office relocation or server room upgrade, IT teams often have to decide whether to keep a traditional server room or move to an all-in-one cabinet / All-in-One Smart Cabinet / Micro Data Center (MDC).
Many assume the change is complete once a cabinet is purchased and placed. In practice, the delivery route, outdoor unit location, power and cooling all affect the programme and later modifications. A lift door, corridor or turning space that cannot take the cabinet does not mean the project cannot proceed.
The five planning points below follow this project. The equipment was lifted to the rooftop by crane, rather than forced through the lift.
1. Confirm the delivery route, not only the space inside the room
The usual route is through the lift and corridor. When the door width, turning radius or floor loading is insufficient, that route fails.
Suggestions:
• Measure the lift door, corridor width, turning radius and floor loading first
• If indoor access is not enough, assess a rooftop or window crane lift
• Confirm roof loading, crane position and drop-zone protection before lifting
2. Confirm the outdoor unit location first
Confirm the outdoor unit location before arranging transport and lifting. An unsettled location often leads to a second move, an unsuitable pipe route, or an excessive cooling distance.
Suggestions:
• Fix the outdoor unit location before booking the transport and crane
• Check the cooling pipe route and the service clearance
• Do not discover an unsuitable location after the equipment is in place
3. Coordinate the lift, power cabinet and indoor racks together
Suggestions:
• Put power, cooling and the rack row in one deployment plan
• Do not split lifting, placement and commissioning into separate arrangements
• Reduce repeated site changes and waiting time
4. Reduce wall modifications and leave room for later reinstatement
An integrated approach brings cooling and power management into the cabinet system, reducing extra installations on walls and ceilings. For organisations in leased offices, reinstatement during a later move or renovation is simpler.
Suggestions:
• Reduce wall openings, extra cabling and wall-mounted equipment
• Include the reinstatement scope in the plan before the move
• Keep clearance for later maintenance and expansion
5. Assess the whole delivery, not only the cabinet
A crane lift and site coordination can look like extra work. When a second move, temporary alterations, deployment time and future reinstatement are included, the overall delivery is often more controlled.
Suggestions:
• Do not compare the cabinet price alone
• Include access, commissioning, downtime and reinstatement
• Size the capacity for the next two to three years
Moving from a traditional server room to an all-in-one cabinet is not a simple cabinet swap. Assessing access, the outdoor unit, power and cooling in advance helps avoid expensive changes later.
